Skyfire for iPhone, iOS saw nearly $1 million its first weekend

Remember Skyfire for iPhone? The solution to all our woes when it comes to the lack of Flash support on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad? Well, after being approved by Apple for the app store, users were buying it up in droves and Skyfire’s servers actually buckled, which is good news. How is Skyfire doing now with its browser?

Eventually, it got around to allowing batches of downloads via the iTunes app store, for which it charges $2.99 for a copy of its browser. Apparently, it saw close to $1 million during its opening week — and that’s with the app having been pulled from the app store!

If anyone says that users don’t really care about Flash videos on their mobile browsers, let this be a testament to that demand.
