Dell Venue Pro coming November 8 and 15 from Microsoft and Dell

An army of Windows Phone 7 devices are coming this month, and it looks like the Dell Venue Pro will find a way into our hands through Microsoft and Dell. Since it isn’t going to have any carrier support or subsidies, those who want the Venue Pro – arguably the most solid, if not the heaviest WP7 phone – will have to grab it online.

Microsoft will be first to dish out the Venue Pro on November 8, followed by Dell a week later on November 15.

The down side is that you won’t be able to get any hands on time with the device since you’re ordering it online. However, I can tell you that it is heavy. It’s svelte and the weight makes it feel like a solid device. The sliding mechanism is built very well and feels like it will last years. I wasn’t a huge fan of the design and texture on the back, but it’s certainly better than having it completely smooth and prone to smudges and prints.

The keyboard could have been better, but that’s coming from years of using BlackBerry over here. It’s the only portrait slider Windows Phone 7 device, and it appears to be a dying form factor. Others that immediately come to mind are the Palm Pre and BlackBerry Torch, but not too many others.

Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for the first of many Windows Phone 7 devices starting with the HTC Surround and Samsung Focus from AT&T.
