PlayStation Phone: More deets and photos!

If you liked the little taste of the PlayStation phone you got a few days ago, there are more photos that have surfaced on the web that will satiate you. The hardware is very Sony Ericsson-esque in style and definitely takes some cues from the Xperia X10. Hopefully these are prototypes because those buttons and the plastic screen aren’t going to cut it in today’s smartphone space.

This thing is codenamed “Zeus” and is pictured running Android 2.2, so hopefully it will be released before it becomes an old OS. Engadget says:

The device appears to have an 8GB microSD card slotted, and at least 512MB of internal storage (though we’re hoping it’s the 1GB we’ve heard would be present). As you can see from the pictures in the gallery below, the device isn’t exactly thin — we surmise that the handset is around 17mm thick…

Wow, that is going to be one obese device! Sony Ericsson needs to stop feeding its phones too much burger grease and mayo because handsets like the Xperia X10 are just too fat for my skinny jeans. I guess it’s to be expected given the sliding mechanism and controller, but a sub-one-inch phone would have been really nice.
