LG looks to be pushing an Android phone that comes equipped with LTE-compatible radios for Verizon in the future. It looks pretty sexy in the images above, but I’m also hoping it looks even more sexy in real life. Oh, and that it doesn’t feel cheap like your average LG or Samsung handset. Even LTE won’t save poor build quality.
What else can I say about this other than the fact that it says HD in large, bold letters on back? It could mean 720p or 1080p video recording and playback. Or, like Engadget says, it could also refer to DLNA like we’re beginning to see on more modern smartphones.
LG really needs to make a big play here if it intends to keep up in the market. The Optimus 7 with Windows Phone 7 is pretty sweet, but I’m not so sure it’s going outshine the HTC Surround or HD7 in the WP7 category. If the Korean manufacturer jumps out of the gate with one of the first LTE smartphones, it could give it a nice, comfortable spot in the U.S. smartphone market.
