BlackBerry Torch 9800 Slider Touch Screen for AT&T

The latest RIM device is the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 a touch screen slider based phone with full QWERTY keyboard, scheduled to hit AT&T August 12th. The highlight of this new BlackBerry is its new vastly improved browser based on WebKit, finally!

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 has a sliding 3.2″ 480×360 capacitive multi-touch screen, an optical trackpad, a 624MHz processor, a 5MP camera with flash and video, 1GB RAM / ROM, and has Wi-Fi “N” network support. There is a 4GB built-in flash card, and a 4GB MicroSD comes with it.

The new BlackBerry OS 6.0 is the brain behind this new flesh of BB LOVE. The WebKit based browser provides a much more satisfying web surfing experience and includes tabbed browsing. The new User Interface includes a search everything feature on the home screen. Social Networks are now integrated into a single view including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

The BlackBerry Torch will be available for $199 with a two-year contract, exclusively for AT&T on August 12th.
