There are newly posted FCC documents detailing the EV-DO based device called the ZTE 3200 PEEL heading to Sprint. The device is a portable Wi-Fi hotspot in a small phone-like form, with its own power, charged by microUSB.
The name PEEL suggests this device may be trying to “peel” you or your Wi-Fi based device away from your hardwired hotspot connection. There have been ideas that this device could be used to pair, essentially piggy backing the iPod touch, bringing it EV-DO data capabilities. There is even word that you can slap it onto your iPod touch to make phone calls over Sprint’s network.
